James Lidgren

James has dedicated 15 years to training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, beginning his journey in 2009. He has progressed to a Brown belt with two stripes and has an impressive record of competition achievements, reflecting his persistence and skill in both gi and no-gi formats.

James’ competition timeline is marked by consistent performances, including early success as a White Belt in various championships and tournaments, earning silver and bronze medals. His journey through the belts showcases his growth, with significant achievements at each level. Notably, James clinched gold at the IBJJF Pan Pacific in 2022 as a Purple Belt in the Masters 2 division and continued his competitive success in 2023, securing silver at the AFBJJ Nationals as a Brown Belt in the Masters 3 division. James won Gold in this year's Brown belt Masters 3 division Nationals

In addition to his BJJ accomplishments, James has a background in kickboxing and MMA, participating in events such as the Kickboxing Interclub Sunshine in 2009 and MMA Fight Night in 2011, where he showed his versatility across combat sports.

Despite facing setbacks like a back injury in 2013, James' resilience is evident through his return to competition and continued success, including receiving the BJJ AET FAFC Most Inspirational Grappler certificate in 2014. His commitment to the sport is further recognized by his being named the BJJ FAFC Student of the Year in both 2010 and 2023.
