Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ( BJJ ) burst on the scene in the early 1990's when Royce Gracie took on all comers in the first Ultimate Fight Championship ( UFC ) cage fight. At only 180 lb he easily defeated much larger opponents from various styles. This rocked the martial arts world and changed it forever. BJJ developed from traditional Jiu Jitsu in Brazil and has spread rapidly throughout the world.

It is primarily a grappling style where opponents are taken to the ground and controlled, then submitted with armlocks, chokes and leglocks. BJJ is taught at FAFC by BJJ Black Belt Peter Rich with over 20 years experience in BJJ, under the guidance of BJJ Black Belt Ninos Dammo and the Australian Elite Team.
