Why Competition is important.

Whilst competing in a Martial Arts Tournament of any level seems daunting if you have never participated we do encourage it. It is not compulsory to compete but there is a certain Rank level ceiling  at FAFC that you will hit if you never compete. Almost everyone I know that has competed is glad they made the decision to try it even if they say they wouldn’t do it again. There are many reasons why stepping outside your comfort zone is a good idea. Here are a few reasons why we believe Martial Arts and Martial Arts Tournaments are worthwhile stepping outside the comfort zone for.

Martial arts competition can provide a number of benefits to both individuals and society as a whole, including:

  1. Physical fitness: Martial arts competitions require a high level of physical fitness, and participants typically train intensively to prepare. Regular practice and training can lead to improved strength, flexibility, endurance, and overall physical health.
  2. Skill development: Competing in martial arts can help individuals develop and refine their technical skills, as well as their ability to read and react to their opponent’s movements. This can improve overall proficiency in martial arts and increase confidence in one’s abilities.
  3. Mental toughness: Competing in martial arts requires a great deal of mental focus, discipline, and resilience. Overcoming the physical and mental challenges of competition can help individuals develop greater mental toughness and the ability to persevere in difficult situations.
  4. Character development: Many martial arts emphasize the development of character traits such as respect, discipline, humility, and perseverance. Competing in martial arts can help individuals cultivate these traits and become better people.
  5. Cultural exchange: Martial arts competitions often bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds. This can provide an opportunity for cultural exchange and the promotion of cross-cultural understanding and respect.
  6. Community building: Martial arts competitions can help build a sense of community and camaraderie among participants and spectators alike. This can create a positive social environment and help promote social cohesion and unity.

Overall, martial arts competition can provide a range of physical, mental, and social benefits, making it a valuable activity for individuals and society as a whole.

Over the years that we have been competing and coaching we have seen all these benefits  first hand and have travelled internationally because of  Tournaments.

There are many types of rule sets to compete under as everyone is different and they all have something to offer.

Don’t miss out on enjoying all these benefits.
